Tool #3: Image Generators

Really cool things out there. I was intimidated at first and as usual, trying to overthink it all, but my team leader guided me back to keeping it simple. I quickly went through each tool on the list, so I have a brief introduction into different things that are out there. I'm definitely going to look into the jigsaw puzzles. The one I looked at was the actual puzzle, but I'm hoping that somewhere out there is a program to create them and use them online.

I used the Comic Strip Generator to create a classroom poster. I definitely want to explore this further to create a series of images to make a story or unit of images. This would be a good tool to use for reflections after learning.

I used Wordle to create a word cloud about all the different animals we will study in first grade. These will be good to use to: determine background knowledge; summarize; list synonyms; categorize; and brainstorm. I liked being able to redo the layout.

  1. Those are all great ideas. I also like Bookr (www.pimpampum.net/bookr/) for younger students to create their own storybooks. It's very user friendly and I think the kids would get a kick out of turning the pages on their own electronic book!
